Translate any video, with both languages side by side
To translate a video, get its transcript in Video Transcriber (captions or an AI transcript), open the ⋮ menu, choose Translate… and pick a language. Read the translation alone or both languages side by side, in the panel or as subtitles over the video. It translates the text; the sound stays as it is.

Video translation questions
Can I translate a YouTube video that has no captions?
Yes. Start the AI transcript first, then choose Translate… in the ⋮ menu. Any transcript in the panel can be translated.
Which languages can I translate into?
20 common languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and Arabic, plus the language of your Video Transcriber interface.
Is this dubbing or a voice-over?
No. Video Transcriber translates the text of the transcript: you read it in the panel or as subtitles, and the video’s sound doesn’t change.
Does it work on live streams?
Yes. Translate the stream’s transcript and turn on Subtitles over the video to follow it in your language as it plays.
What is sent for translation?
The transcript text, a batch at a time, with the target language, goes through our server to Google Gemini. Our server doesn’t store it, and the translation is saved only in your browser (Privacy Policy).
